CL 1 Domino 4103M
AHA NUMBER: 44554155
I picked 4103M because he combined several things I look for in a herd bull. First, he had the look that I like with good movement. Second, he had an awesome set of data with a WW ratio of 102, YW ratio of 106, REA ratio of 102 and IMF ratio of 119. Finally, he brought me a shot of CL 1 Domino 0186H who I hadn’t added to the herd, but am so impressed with I wanted too. 4103M has grown out nicely and made a good-looking herd bull, and we have given him a great shot with 26 calves on the ground in the spring of 2026 and a great cut of cows bred this summer. Owned with W4 Ranch.

IMR H086 Fireball 4036M
AHA NUMBER: 44554918
We know that there are many great sons of the industry leading sire, SHF Houston D287 H086, but we will throw our hat in the ring that Fireball may be the best. His story is unique in that he was born just a couple of hours before we were hit by the Smokehouse Creek fire and he was literally on the scales on the back of our Ranger when the fire topped the hill. We dropped him with his mother and fled, but the lord was good to us and spared our herd, while the ranch was 80% burned. Fireball always strutted around like a herd bull and was the best-looking calf in the pasture, we knew we wanted to keep him to be a major part of our polled herd. His dam, IMR 6037 Miss Arapaho 9115G is out of the Harrisons great Arapaho sire who is a son of the Churchill Lady 002X ET cow who has made an impact across the nation. Fireball had a WW ratio of 117, YW ratio of 122, REA ratio of 112 and an IMF ratio of 110. We are excited for the future with Fireball!

CL 1 Domino 4186M 1ET
AHA NUMBER: 44554244
4186M brings a powerful pedigree to the table that we were anxious to add to the IMR herd and so we bought him in the 2025 Cooper Hereford Ranch sale. 4186M was one of four full brothers in the sale with Johanson Herefords buying his brother 436M. 4186M was a little greener, but had the same good look with excellent markings. His sire CL 1 Domino 267K 1ET has gotten lots of attention as he was owned by Churchill and he and his progeny headlined the horned division of their record setting dispersion. Many would say that 267K is the best son of the great 0186H herd bull who is making his mark as a great Line 1 sire. 4186M’s dam is out of a beautiful, donor cow at Cooper’s, who really has a good udder and great eye appeal. His dam 978G is a full sister to the Coates Ranch herd sire CL 1 Domino 9100G 1ET and his granddam is the great 9119W the dam of 710E. We don’t feel like we can miss with this maternal package.

CL 1 Domino 3249L
AHA NUMBER: 44459553
We hit the jackpot with 3249L! We needed a heifer bull, but I was unable to make it to Montana for the sales in 2024 so Stephen Coates and Jonathan Johanson were my eyes at the sales. They told me that I needed to buy 3249L, and that is what I did. His sire CL 1 Domino 1176J 1 ET was already making a great name for himself and his dam, CL 1 Dominette 072H 1ET, was checking all of the boxes in the Cooper cowherd. We used 3249L on heifers and the result was a great set of calves. In the upcoming 2026 Indian Mound Ranch Annual Production Sale the 3249L bulls are among the best! We are equally excited about the daughters who will have their first calves in the spring of 2027. We are moving 3249L up to top end cows and give him a shot to really impact our herd!

H5 9241 Advance 2183
AHA NUMBER: 44355493
We picked 2183 out of the 2023 Harrell Hereford Ranch Sale where the Harrell’s retained a breeding interest and they have used 2183 very successfully. He is one of the easiest fleshing bulls that we have had around and is loaded with meat and muscle. His sire H5 5019 Advance 9241 has been a consistent producer of high marbling cattle at Harrell’s and we wanted to own a son. 2183 has proven that he is carrying on that marbling trait, but as you will see in our 2026 sale offering his sons do much more. We had great success A.I.’ing to H5 9131 Domino 2185 and he is the sire of 2183’s mother. Great pedigree and performance! Owned with Harrell Hereford Ranch.

NJW 10E 189G Long Range 169J
AHA NUMBER: 44272810
We bought 169J at NJW Polled Herefords because of his tremendous look and his muscular design. NJW are constantly working to have great udders just like us and Jan recommended this bull and is very proud of his dam, 10E. 10E is a Sensation daughter and we have loads of Sensation in our horned program and were excited to get a shot into our polled herd, but what we were really excited about is the granddam out of the maternal leader, NJW 73S W18 Homegrown 8Y ET. We have sold 169J sons in our sale for the last three years where they have been very well accepted, and the daughters that we have calved are really good with the kind of perfect udders that we hoped for when we bought the bull. We will have lots of daughters in the herd making him a big part of our future.

IMR 710E DOMINO 0117H ET
AHA NUMBER: 44131672
0117H was our choice of all of the CL 1 Domino 710E 1ET sons to carry on his legacy. 710E has proven himself across the nation as one of the greatest Line 1 maternal sires of all time. 710E is an absolute udder fixing machine and the daughters are big time producers. We selected 0117H for his phenotype and his outstanding performance, but also because of his awesome mother K5 8050U Miss Advance 1014Y. 1014Y and her daughters and their descendants have proven to be the best uddered and highest performing cow family in our herd. We decided that combining 710E and 1014Y was a surefire way to build a cowherd! Here is what is so cool about 0117H, his sons have the balance and power to have been the top selling sire group in our annual production sale for several years. We are watching the 0117H daughters come into production and we are excited about their future! Owned with Dixon Ranches.

IMR L1 5047C ADVANCE 8099F ET
AHA NUMBER: 43911800
8099F would have to be in the conversation as one of the great herd sires ever raised at Indian Mound Ranch. He is a straight Line 1 bull who is sired by HH Advance 5047C ET who we and Coates Ranch bid $70,000 on, before Cooper Hereford Ranch bought him at $75,000 showing you how we felt about him. His dam was possibly the best daughter of our maternal giant, HH Advance 396N, and that was a great group of cows. 8099F was a powerful individual and caught our eye early and by the spring when he was a yearling we knew we needed to get him to work in our herd. He exceeded all expectations! The 8099F sons are thick, deep and have repeatedly been one of the top sire groups in our sale. We are so pleased with the 8099F daughters. His daughters have his depth and fleshing ability along with being short marked and loaded with pigment, but the real bonus is their beautiful udders. Owned with Coates Ranch Co.

CL 1 DOMINO 710E 1ET
AHA NUMBER: 43800218
710E daughters are in production all over the U.S.A. and it is clear that he is truly one of the great Line 1 maternal sires to come along. His sire CL 1 Domino 215Z was a great sire in his own right and his dam 055X and grand dam 7136T are among the best cows ever to walk the Cooper Hereford Ranch donor pens. His dam HH Miss Advance 9119W has proven herself as one of the great cows to come out of Montana and you will see her impact everywhere at both Cooper and Holden as well as top herds across the country. 710E may be one of the great udder fixers of all time and his daughters are the epidemy of “ideal Hereford cows.” His daughters not only have the look, but they produce. We have tried to get 710E into every pedigree on the ranch and have just about achieved our goal. It isn’t often that you get a chance to own a real breed changer, but we feel that describes 710E. Owned with Coates Ranch Co.

NJW 33TB 100W TRUST 167Y
AHA NUMBER: 43214415
I needed a polled herd sire back in 2012 and knew that I wanted to go find him at NJW Polled Herefords. I built spreadsheets of their sale bulls and the bull that kept coming to the top for combining all traits was 167Y. He was in with some tough company that day as breed changers 8Y and 10Y led the sale. I was able to land 167Y and came out of the sale with the bull I wanted. He was eye appealing, sound, well-marked and had the combination of low birth weight along with good growth and excellent carcass performance. Our first calf crop was excellent and we were fortunate to get a call from Genex and leased them the semen rights. Another year went by and John Loewen came to see me and as we set in a pasture of replacement heifers one good looking, red eyed heifer after another came out of the brush and really caught John’s eye. That night I got a call back from John and made a deal to sell the walking rights to 167Y to Loewen, Candy Meadows Farm and Sandhill Farms. Over the years 167Y has had a great impact across the breed and our herd.

L1 DOMINO 08542
AHA NUMBER: 42915174
SEMEN FOR SALE: $25.00 per Straw and $75.00 per Certificate
OWNED WITH: Coates Ranch, Mertzon, Texas
Over the last 50 years Indian Mound has owned and used some great “Miles City bulls.” I got a call before the 2010 Miles City bull sale from my friend Stephen Coates and he told me he had found a bull there. It is difficult to buy bulls from the station if you don’t know the cowherd, but Stephen had done the research and got a good review on the pedigree from Clayton Herbel, who was one of the most recognized breeders of straight Miles City cattle. We were ready on sale day and got 08542 bought, but that night I got a call from Mark Cooper who had put an order on the bull and ended up as runner up bidder. By the end of the first day the partnership was made with Coates Ranch, Indian Mound Ranch and Cooper Hereford Ranch. 08542 did almost everything right, moderate birth weight, good growth, pigment, soundness and longevity along with added muscle and depth in his calves. His daughters’ udders were just ok, but were good enough to keep his daughters in the herd for many years. Still he made a great impact in our herd and was a building block that you will see in pedigrees for years to come.
